The purpose of the group is:
- To give parents a voice and increase their involvement in consultation and
decision making, fostering a culture of ownership and participation.
- To develop a partnership between the school and parents / carers in order to
support and promote students’ learning and bring about change.
The purpose is not:
- The channel for individual complaints and issues. Concerns or complaints
involving individual students, families or teachers will not be discussed. Any
concerns should be discussed with staff outside of the meeting.
Kirkland Rowell Survey
As the new Headteacher, looking to develop Scalby School further, I felt it was
important to find out what students and parents, as well as staff and governors
thought about the school. To this end, I commissioned detailed questionnaires
for students and parents through a company called Kirkland Rowell in January. I
am pleased to inform you that summaries of these reports are now available to
view on the school web-site
www.scalbyschool.org.uk.
Parent Survey
(January 2011)
Student Survey
(January 2011)
These reports have provided me with much ‘food for thought’ as I work with the leadership team
and governors in developing a new vision for Scalby School. I am therefore
grateful to those of you who took the time to complete the questionnaire and
write your views, all of which I read personally.
Yours sincerely
David Read
