"Creativity arises out of the tension between spontaneity and limitations, the latter (like the river banks) forcing the spontaneity into the various forms which are essential to the work of art or poem."

Rollo May

Zip Three units of work are studied over the period of the two year course. 60% of the overall grade is based on the coursework produced in both year 10 and 11; 40% of the grade is based on a terminal examination taken in year 11. The scheme of work is as follows:

  • Year 10 – Fastening Project
  • Year 10 – Space & Form
  • Year 11 – Art & Power

Students cover a breadth of elements over the course addressing all the assessment objectives required by the AQA examination board. The course is unendorsed allowing students to work in painting, textiles, graphics, ceramics and digital imagery.
