The starting points for each year group is based on a thematic approach. The following
themes are developed with year groups, although other themes are explored when relevant
to the enhancement of the students learning:
Year 7
- Me and Myself, Entertainment
and Animal Magic
Year 8
- Food, Architecture, Seascape, Landscape (Environmental
Issues)
Year 9
- The Figure, Ethnic Art & Crafts, Issue based work, natural
forms.
Pupils cover a breadth of elements over the Keystage 3 programme of study.
The following tables are an indicator in the coverage of building up a visual language,
developing observation and imaginative technical skills.
